Great-granddaughter Marcella says, "Juan Brennan was sent twice as technical representative of the Argentine workers to the ILO (International Labour Organisation) in Geneva, Switzerland in 1927 and 1930. I still have the shipping letters. In fact, he went to the ILO twice and was also a member of the CGT (Confederacion General del Trabajo) a national trade union, as well a member of other unions. Later Juan 'disappear' and the family were unable to find anything of what happened to him.

Juan was influential in the development of the unions, which was not always acceptable to the Argentine government of the time, and it was suspicious that a cousin reported seeing him running from the police."
